Reality is a persistant illusion

Think about it!

Absurd, right? Just how in the world does this make any sense? How can reality be an illusion? Well, even I did not understand this puzzling statement.

But then I thought about it. I thought and thought and thought and thought.

And finally came to a conclusion that,

The reality is indeed an illusion, powered by our thoughts!

The reality is simply your way of perceiving things. It may or may not be the actual truth. And the lens with which we perceive reality is, our thought. We do not see the world just with our eyes. We see the world, the reality, with our emotions, our beliefs, and our mind.

If we believe that we see the world as it is, that may not totally be true. Want to know something cool? Colour doesn’t actually exist. Yeah, it doesn’t.

When light falls on an object, its surface absorbs some light and reflects the rest. Our brain translates the reflected light into colour. It is all in your mind! So practically, colour is the illusion and light is the reality.

So yeah, thoughts do create our reality. Assertion creates and negation destroys. And eventually, we become and see what our thoughts are. Here is a quote to explain it.

“Thoughts become perception, perception becomes reality. Alter your thoughts, alter your reality.” — William James

But whatever it be at the end, whether the reality is really an illusion or not, let’s just get to our work. Because, well, calling the world an illusion won’t extend my assignment deadline.

Coffee cheers!
